| MI-JACK
PRODUCTS...QUALITY, SERVICE, COMMITMENT |
| Mi-Jack was officially incorporated 55 years
ago by the son of Irish immigrants Jack Lanigan Senior in the
basement of the family home in Dolton Chicago Illinois USA. He
originally worked as a lineman for the city of Chicago. Jack
designed a 360 degree revolving boom which was mounted to a
truck for the ease of the placement of power poles. He left the
Chicago council to follow his dream and promote his own company
which he named after his 2 eldest sons, Michael and Jack. He
added the word products for whatever children came later. |
Selling the boom trucks
was a tough game. He sold several units around the USA and
eventually sold 3 units to Cuba. Fidel Castro was put into power
and Jack never got paid for the trucks. He nearly lost
everything and was forced to go back working for the Chicago
Council for a period of time.
Jack began his career in the Intermodal
Industry as a salesman but beyond that he devoted his energies to
improvements to the Intermodal and Industrial Industries.
In 1963 Mi-Jack Products commenced to
manufacture Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes in particular for use in
the Container Handling and Pre Cast Concrete sectors. Jack has
been responsible for many new inventions and designs of Rubber
Tyred and Rail Wheeled Gantry Cranes and Attachments over many
years. |
Mi-Jack now have 3.000
odd employees with branches in many states of the USA and
Distributors World Wide. The company is a leader in the design,
manufacture, sales, service and rental of material handling
equipment, terminal GPS systems and components for the rail,
